Printing 11x14 Calendars

So, you have designed your own poster calendar set.  But how do you print them out?  Standard printers for home use do not print 11x14 paper.

Both Kinkos and AlphaGraphics print in color on 11x17 paper which can be trimmed with a paper slicer to fit 11x14 frames.  (Matte finish is probably best, but it depends on what you have created.)  Just take a CD of your digital calendar images to a local shop.  Having the calendars printed at a store will save you shipping costs.

The most user-friendly web resource I have found for printing your own personally designed 11x14 poster calendar sets is Shutterfly.  Shutterfly is free, but you must register at the site.  Upload your images to Shutterfly and then you can order prints of those pictures, which will be delivered to your home.  At Shutterfly prints in the 11x14 size are available in matte finish only.

When using Shutterfly you will be paying about an additional $20 in shipping.  Shutterfly's cost is $7.99 per print.  Shipping is $19.49.  Tax varies according to state but figure another $5-8.  All told, it's going to run you around a hundred bucks.

We make all of our 11x14 gallery submissions available at Shutterfly.  Visit our page there at drwcs.shutterfly.com

As you can see, it is much cheaper to buy a professional calendar artist's work!  Their prices run around $28 for a calendar set.  See our drwcs Collectors' Corner page for links to their sites.

Also, the professional artists' calendars are (we assume) assured to be high quality.  (Which isn't to say you can never match that level of quality with a custom designed set; just that a high quality level for a professionally made set is basically assured.)

Print 8 x 10 Calendars and Use Mats For 11 x 14 Frames

This is a much cheaper solution to filling a missing calendar year for 11x14 acrylic box frames.  Simply design the calendars to fit an 8x10 opening and print them youself on a standard home printer.  The mats cost about $3 each!
